This is the original waitomo subterranean adventure that will have you climbing and black water tubing, leaping and floating through Ruakuri Cave.

Over three hours you’ll take leaps of faith over cascading waterfalls and float serenely down an underground river as you enjoy the glow worm show on the vaulted limestone galleries up above.

Your journey concludes when you emerge into the sunlight of the Waitomo forest.

Special Notes

Please bring your own swim wear and towels.

Not fit for children under 12

Tour Length: 1 full day

09:00 - Depart form hotel

12:00~14:45 - Black water rafting

15:00 - Back to Auckland

18:00 - Arrive at hotel

  • Lunch Box ( snacks , sand wiches etc )
  • Lightweight jacket (in winter) or sun hat (in summer)

Special Note for this Tour

All terms & conditions below apply as normal, with these differences;

  • Bookings cancelled more than 7 working days before your tour date are fully refundable.
  • Bookings cancelled between 2 and 6 working days before the tour date are 50% refundable.
  • Bookings cancelled within 1 working day of the tour date can not be refunded.

Booking

  • A minimum of 2 adults must be attending the tour for the tour to take place.
  • Application for a tour must be made by phone, fax or e-mail no later than 5:00 PM of the day before the tour.
  • Your application may not be accepted if the tour is full, prior to your booking.
  • Hobbiton Movie Set is closed on Christmas Day.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations and refunds are based on the working day we receive your request. Please note that requests must must be received before 5 PM ( NZT ) to be processed on that working day.

  • Bookings cancelled more than 4 working days before your tour date are fully refundable.
  • Bookings cancelled between 2 and 3 working days before the tour date are 50% refundable.
  • Bookings cancelled within 1 working day of the tour date can not be refunded.
  • If you are not present at the specified pick-up location at the departure time, the tour must depart without you.
  • No refunds will be made after travel has commenced.
  • Refunds for Paypal payments do not include card fees ( 3% ) as per Paypal terms & conditions.
The above cancellation policy may have exceptions for certain tours, which will be communicated to you at the time of booking.

Tour Costs

  • If there are two adults attending the tour, the cost of the tour written is the cost for one person.
  • If there are two adults attending the tour, children ( aged 5~11 ) will cost half of what is written.

  • Please understand that changes of schedule, cost and tours may occur with no notice.
