We participated in a tour of Hobbiton and the Waitomo Glowworm Caves as a couple.
On this day, we were the only participants on the tour, and the guide shared lots of interesting information about New Zealand during our journey. We asked many questions, including for restaurant recommendations, and every place they suggested turned out to be fantastic—we ended up visiting them repeatedly over the following days.
In the morning, we went on the glowworm cave tour. We followed a group of about ten local participants from a short distance behind, with explanations provided in Japanese. It felt like we had the entire space almost to ourselves, making for a very relaxed and leisurely tour through the cave. On the boat ride that brought us closer to the glowworms, the guide had to stay behind due to a full capacity of passengers.
Around noon, we arrived at the Hobbiton tour hub, and thanks to the guide taking care of all the necessary arrangements, we were able to enjoy a relaxed lunch. Remarkably, the rain that had been forecast didn’t appear, and we toured the village under perfect weather conditions. The Hobbiton tour was packed with fascinating details about the movie set and behind-the-scenes stories, making for an unforgettable experience.
Visiting Hobbiton held a particularly special meaning for us, and we are deeply grateful that we were able to enjoy it in such an ideal way. Thanks to the arrangements, we were able to make the most of the limited time we had. That said, the level of craftsmanship in Hobbiton was so incredible that we felt there was still much more to see.
We are already determined to visit again and, when we do, we’d love to book with Navi Tours once more. Thank you so much for helping us fulfill one of our dreams!
