Tour Length: 1 day

Tour Distance: 19.4 km / 12 miles

Itinerary: Operates daily

  • 07:00-08:30 - hotel pick up time (dependent on date/ hotel location)

*Note:

  • Hotel pick up available from Turangi, Whakapapa Village or lodges in the National Park Village
  • Pick up from Taupo- $80.00 NZD each way (per vehicle)

What we Provide:

  • A back pack to carry it all in
  • Raincoat and over-trousers
  • Warm polarfleece or woollen pullover (essential even in summer)
  • Warm polarfleece or woollen hat
  • Walking poles are available if you like them
  • Boots are also available for free if you tell us your size when you make your booking
  • Lightweight summer trousers are available

What to Bring:

  • Sun-hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Any personal medication you might need to keep close

Tour Cost

  • There are two or more of us and we would be happy to hike with other people.  Join-a-Group $220.00 NZD per person for a full day hike.  Groups do not get larger than 8 Clients per Guide.
  • There are two or more of us and we would like a guided trip just for us, with no-one else joining us.  A Private Guided trip is $345.00 NZD per person for two or more people on a full day hike.
  • I am traveling alone and I would like to join others for the hike.  If there are others already booked for the date that you have chosen, it will be a Join-a-Group price of $220.00 NZD for a full day hike. If no-one has booked for the date that you have chosen, but you are willing to let others join you, we will book you in at the Join-a-Group rate of $360.00 NZD for a full day hike, which will reduce to NZ$220.00 NZD,  if someone else books in on your trip.
  • I am traveling alone and I would like to book a Private Guided trip just for me at $495.00 NZD , so that I can guarantee there will only be my Guide and I.

Special Note for this Tour

All terms & conditions below apply as normal, with these differences;

Booking

  • A minimum of 2 adults must be attending the tour for the tour to take place.
  • Application for a tour must be made by phone, fax or e-mail no later than 5:00 PM of the day before the tour.
  • Your application may not be accepted if the tour is full, prior to your booking.
  • Hobbiton Movie Set is closed on Christmas Day.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations and refunds are based on the working day we receive your request. Please note that requests must must be received before 5 PM ( NZT ) to be processed on that working day.

  • Bookings cancelled more than 4 working days before your tour date are fully refundable.
  • Bookings cancelled between 2 and 3 working days before the tour date are 50% refundable.
  • Bookings cancelled within 1 working day of the tour date can not be refunded.
  • If you are not present at the specified pick-up location at the departure time, the tour must depart without you.
  • No refunds will be made after travel has commenced.
  • Refunds for Paypal payments do not include card fees ( 3% ) as per Paypal terms & conditions.
The above cancellation policy may have exceptions for certain tours, which will be communicated to you at the time of booking.

Tour Costs

  • If there are two adults attending the tour, the cost of the tour written is the cost for one person.
  • If there are two adults attending the tour, children ( aged 5~11 ) will cost half of what is written.

Warning

  • Please understand that changes of schedule, cost and tours may occur with no notice.
